Crestone, CO – March 27, 2010 - The Woodbine Ecology Center, Sedalia, Colorado, has collaborated with Crestone Solar School to offer a 6 day residential workshop July 12 – 17, 2010 in Solar Design and Natural Building for Sustainable Communities. This solar workshop program, taught by Paul Shippee of Crestone Solar School, will cover active and passive solar design, solar heating design, alternative natural building, photovoltaics (solar electric) basics and renewable energy applications. Participants will design and construct a new solar structure at Woodbine’s facility.
Anyone wanting a professional career in the renewable energy field, or who wants to design and build their own home or gain general knowledge and preparation for sustainable living, will find this workshop to their liking.

About Crestone Solar School
The Crestone Solar School, founded by Paul Shippee, provides solar training with a foundation certificate course in a series of 4 - day residential classes in the summer months. The classes are a mixture of hands-on learning and theoretical study and are held at Shippee's Zero Energy home. Participants also tour innovative local solar installations. Students are exposed to alternative building by convening at a simple and elegant working model of sustainable home living..
